Today’s prompt: “Write a public love letter to someone in your life. (It doesn’t necessarily need to be romantic.)”
My totally ridiculously awesome broski. I still swear we’re related, even though we literally look like we came from two completely different gene pools. You just found out you have a stress fracture and your XC season has been halted. And it totally sucks, and you’re down in the dumps, and I wish I could drive right to you now and grab some Five Guys and a Starbucks Cookie Crumble drink and make it better. But, you have no idea what fantastic things are store in store for you.
Every day I wish you’d realize how awesome you are. How funny you are. How smart you are. How cool you legit are. You make me LOL so much, always in the most inappropriate circumstances (like in church or in a restaurant full of people…awk…). We used to fight all the time. We used to pick at each other and be the annoying big sister/annoying little brother duo. Now, I think we’re a power sibling duo – isn’t it kinda cool? You’ve grown up so much, and I hate that you’re taller than me now (I will ALWAYS be older, remember…). And stronger than me. Although I still swear I will be able to successfully arm wrestle you one day.
Please don’t let this little setback (although it feels huge) keep you down. Kick it to the curb (stress-fractured foot and all) and keep moving forward. Remember that there’s WAY more to life than high school. You’re such a team player, and that will behoove you in so many ways in your future. Don’t be afraid to make everyone laugh. Don’t be afraid to be a leader. Your morals are so strong and you value so many good things, and that shows so much character. I am so proud of you. SO proud of you. And I couldn’t be happier to be your big sister. Stay strong, do you. Lunch dates until we die, brudder.
Love you oodles,
